Bayern star Robert Leandowski has been named FIFA Footballer of the Year. The winners were announced at the FIFA World Cup in Zurich, Switzerland, on Thursday at the Virtual The Best FIFA Football Awards. This information has been revealed in the live report of BBC. 
On July 25 last year, FIFA released a list of 11 people selected by an expert panel to consider their performance from July 20 to October 6. Then last Friday the shortlist was brought down to three.
Lewandowski, who won the UEFA Player of the Year award on October 1, beating Manuel Neuer and Kevin de Bruyne, had a great season last year. He scored 17 more goals last season than any other player in Europe's top five leagues in all competitions.
This round machine is running in the same rhythm again. He is at the top of the list of goal scorers after 11 rounds in the Bundesliga this season. Leandowski scored all four goals in Bayern's thrilling 4-3 win over Herta Berlin in the league on 4 October.
